Cyber Renaissance II Inc. was started with the objective of developing innovative commercial grade software for network and system management. The innovation will apply to organization, software development methodology and its underlying technology.
Most work at this time, in the general purpose computing, continues to deliver the type of software that gave UNIX its advantage in the seventies and eighties.
The IT industry is not even close to the self-managed, self-healing and true fault-tolerant systems we once strived to achieve. At this time of the development of multicore CPU's, the software industry still inflicts single threaded applications on users.
Our immediate goal is to build an operational prototype. Our system will meet the following objectives.
• It will run on a generic, unmodified Ubuntu Server operating system on Intel or AMD-based commercial hardware.
• Our prototype system will consist of six computers.
• We will install SOCIC™ system on one of these computers.
• We will boot other computers on the network, and configuration and software installation will then occur automatically.
• After the system stabilizes, we will remove, at random, one of these systems; the remaining systems should stay stable and readjust themselves.
• SOCIC™ software will be fault-tolerant and will automatically redistribute itself to systems left on the network.
• SOCIC™ system will be self-protecting. All legitimate files and processes will be registered in the database and all other processes and files will automatically be discarded.
• No SOCIC™ software will be associated with any particular computer. It will “free-float” through this system, depending on performance and other needs.
This is the prototyping stage and if you feel entrepreneurial, adventurous and passionate about changing the status quo - regardless of your geographical location - please join us.
